Android has been the world's best-selling OS for smartphones since 2011 and for tablets since 2013. It has 3 billion monthly active users as per the data of May 2021, and thus it tends to be the most extensive installed base of any operating system and the Google Play Store as of January 2021. There are over three million+ applications. Android 12 is the latest version released on October 4, 2021.
